The real meat market...

I thought this was funny so I had to post. My single friend (meaning my friend is single, she's not my only friend) went to a Young Single Adult Activity. One of the leaders has a business making the ear tags for cattle and he had an extra order, so he had YSA 2008 printed up on them and passed them out to all the young single adults at the dance. Is it just me or is that a little overly appropriate?

I'm trying to think if we have 8 restaurants in town. We have Arby's, McDonald's, Taco John's, Habaneros, A&W, pizza hut, Sally's Pizza, Subway, the Brass Plum... okay, we have more than 8! Who says I have attention deficit?
So seriously I want to try the Brass Plum here. Someone told me the lady gets up at 4 am and does everything herself, so they are closed after lunch.

Xac Peed!

Last month my friend asked me if I wanted a Pocket PC she had picked up on eBay. It is also a phone. She let us have it for $20, which was really nice. It doesn't have service so we put lullabies on it for Xhaiden at night, and today we sat Xac down on the toilet with it. I let him sit there long enough he went potty, and when I got upstairs he was all excited to show me. I got excited too and got him a treat. I think we may be on our way. :)

Potty Training? Not really.

OK, so we bought the little potty. Xac has no interest whatsoever and Xhaiden thinks it's a toy and loves taking it apart, putting toys in the space for the wipes, etc. Last night I was cleaning the tub and Xhaiden took the bowl out of the potty (it hasn't been used yet), put it under the running water and took a sip.

Jim's mom suggested that I use breakfast cereal for aim. I tried this with Xac, and he was very upset that he did not get to eat the Cheerios after I put them in the toilet.

So what's with the picture? I came home from visiting teaching tonight and found these. Jim said the little boy across from us made them with his mom, and he told Jim there were eleven. Jim said "That's a fun way to learn how to count!" They are little hamburgers made out of Nilla Wafers, Peppermint Patties, frosting and I think that's honey or Karo Syrup. Cute.

Birthday Presents?

Xac just had a birthday, which he thoroughly enjoyed, in spite of being exhausted. He brought cookies for his class and had a party at grandma's. He was showered with so many presents we don't know where to put them all yet, and he enjoyed every one of them. I'll have more pictures as soon as my MIL posts them all, she has been busy and it was nice of her to host the party as well.
