Jim is really doing quite well. He is keeping up with his classes and plans to rebuild a computer for Dr. Weaver later next week. Those two are better friends than I can describe. Jim calls him late at night to see if he is over at his office, and if he is, Jim goes over to hang out with him. It really cracks me up. One night he was so late returning home I called and asked if he was going to sleep over. He really is a personable guy. I don't know anyone who is uncomfortable around him.
As for me, I really enjoyed Jim's hospital visit and now I am thrilled to have him home again. I got to go over to the hospital and watch cable television (we don't have TV), and visit with Jim, and they even fed me once in a while. Meanwhile between all the different babysitters I found I think we'll be set when we want to go out somewhere. It cracked me up when I called one girl's house, her dad said: "Well, if she loses her first basketball game she can sit for you, but if they win they go on to another one so she can't." I told him I wouldn't hope for that and called someone else. Small towns. Another bonus of Jim being gone was that I completely wore myself out getting a big start on laundry and our tiny apartment has some hope of being organized and clean. This has been a stressor for me lately and I was glad to see what I can accomplish. Of course the best part is that Jim is here, the bag is gone, and there is not a strap around his waist anymore. Oh, and his belly looks incredible. They tied those muscles back together, which is kind of sore for Jim, but his intestines aren't hanging out next to his skin. He has a high tolerance for pain, so that is good. In any case I feel like we have been released from prison, we can go about our lives now, which is what we have been dreaming about for almost our whole marriage. I love my life.
